Dr. Garth Rattray
Dr. Garth Rattray is a General Medical Practitioner in Jamaica. He has been practicing medicine since 1981 and is currently in practice with his wife Dr. Joan Elizabeth Rattray. He is Managing Director of Cadaceus Limited.
Dr. Rattray was born October 6, 1955. He received his secondary education from St. George’s College in Kingston Jamaica following which he obtained his MBBS at the University of the West Indies. He was awarded the Jamaica Government Exhibition during his tenure at the University of the West Indies. Between 1971 and 1972 Dr. Rattray represented the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force first in Grenada then in Canada.
For the years 1998, 1999 and 2000 Dr. Rattray won the prestigious Silver Pen award from the Jamaica Gleaner Company for his contributions to the paper. Since 2001 Dr. Rattray has been a columnist for the Jamaica Gleaner, the oldest and one of the leading daily newspapers in Jamaica
He is a member of The Medical Association of Jamaica, The Caribbean College of Family Physicians (Jamaica Chapter) – Past Vice President – Current Assistant Secretary, The Association of General Practitioners of Jamaica – Past Vice President. In 2007 he was awarded the Medical Association of Jamaica President’s Award and in 2008 he was awarded the Caribbean College of Family Physicians Award
